About Alloy River

Alloy River builds agentic applied AI for finance and accounting. Accounting today is fragmented, manual, and reactive. We believe it should be intelligent, structured, and operationally decisive. Our mission is to transform finance from a slow, labor-intensive, reporting function into a real-time, strategic engine for profit and control.

We re-architected the general ledger from first principles, and layered automation, workflow orchestration, and applied AI directly into its core. Instead of accountants moving data between tools and managing checklists, our system produces outcomes, surfaces exceptions, and compounds leverage over time. This is not incremental improvement. It is a ground-up redesign of financial infrastructure for an AI-native world.

We raised over $30m to date from Portage Ventures, Electric Capital, Elad Gil, and angels like Tobi Lütke, Balaji Srinivasan, and many more. We’re scaling what we do with the best builders, operators, and craftspeople in the world.

Role Overview

This role exists because AI has changed what a technical product manager can do. The gap between having an idea and shipping it has never been smaller - and the best product builders are the ones who feel that most acutely. You understand customers deeply, you think in products, and you are technical enough to contribute meaningfully to the codebase, using AI as your primary building tool. You own a problem space end to end, from the customer call to the shipped feature. You’re excited by how fast you can build, and how little gets in your way.

This role is for people who make things.

What You'll Work On

• Owning a customer-facing area of the product end-to-end, from understanding the problem to shipping the feature.

• Getting on customer calls. Working with our accounting experts. Building the domain understanding that makes the difference between building a feature that works and one that solves a real problem.

• Building on the patterns our systems engineers create, using AI as your primary building tool.

• Shipping quickly, getting feedback early, and holding a high bar for correctness.

What We're Looking For

This role is for builders who think in products, and are technical enough to bring them to life. A CS degree is not required. The instincts of a great PM and a track record of making things are. If you have shipped a side project, a tool, or something you made because you wanted it to exist, this could be the perfect role for you.

• 5+ years of product management experience - you have owned a problem space, defined what needed to be built, and seen it through.

• The ability to build. Side projects, shipped features, tools you made for yourself - proof that you can take something from idea to real thing.

• Deep customer empathy - you listen well, ask the right questions, and translate what you hear into something buildable.

• AI fluency. Agents are a core part of how you build. You use them to move fast and you have the judgment to know when they help and when they don't.

• Strong written and verbal communication - you can articulate a problem, a tradeoff, and a decision without being prompted.

• Comfort working with financial or transactional data, where accuracy and attention to detail are incredibly important.

• You’re energized by solving ambiguous problems.

• A genuine joy in building things in a way that wouldn’t have been possible 6 months ago.

Bonus experience includes:

• Accounting or finance knowledge, or a genuine interest in learning it.

• Experience in fintech or financial software.

• Experience in a startup or early-stage environment.

• Familiarity with ledger systems or double-entry accounting.

How We Work

• You will own your problem space end to end - there are no traditional PMs writing specs. You understand the goal and you deliver.

• You will work closely with our accounting experts and directly with customers.

• The technical staff on the team are your platform - you build on what they create and collaborate with them when you need something new.

• We are in-person every day. There’s a real feeling of building something new side by side with an incredibly smart team.

• We use AI across all of our workflows, and expect all team members to do the same.

Compensation & Location

This role pays $150,000–$200,000 CAD, plus equity. This role is in-person full-time at our gorgeous office in Liberty Village, Toronto.
