Position Overview

We’re seeking an experienced and driven Go-to-Market (GTM) Principal to join our Value Creation Team to support the growth of our portfolio companies. In this role, you will collaborate closely with our Partner & Chief Growth Officer (CGO) to develop and execute go-to-market strategies for our Venture & PE investments. You will act as a thought partner and advisor to portfolio company CEOs, CROs & CMOs, providing guidance and support. This is a rare opportunity for operators to leverage their b2b expertise in sales, marketing, and/or revenue operations at a Venture Capital & Private Equity fund and make a material impact to our portfolio companies.

Responsibilities

  • Strategy & Execution:
    • Work closely with the CGO to develop and execute the Value Creation Team's Go-To-Market strategy & playbooks, ensuring it remains a core pillar of impact and differentiation for Sagard.
    • Act as a thought partner and advisor to portfolio company CEOs, CROs & CMOs, providing guidance and support on go-to-market strategies.
  • Sagard GTM Initiatives:
    • Lead planning & execution of our annual Sagard Growth Summit bringing together CMOs, CROs & CTOs from across our global portfolio.
    • Lead & support GTM programming including executive roundtables, GTM webinars, our annual European showcase, GTM benchmarking and other initiatives throughout the year.
  • Thought Leadership:
    • Lead and support the creation of original research and thought leadership content to be featured on linkedin & media publications.
  • Reporting & Analysis:
    • Track and own reporting for high-priority initiatives and GTM support.
    • Analyze key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure the effectiveness of growth strategies.

Experience & Qualifications

  • 5-10 years of experience working with B2B SaaS businesses, preferably early-stage startups and scaleups ($1M - $200M ARR).
  • Must have: Operating experience in the go-to-market function, such as sales, product marketing, or revenue operations in a b2b software company.
  • Must have: Experience working in a consulting or client services context, providing advice, guidance or working with c-suite execs.
  • Must have: Ability to write, and create compelling content and facilitate discussions with c-suite execs.
  • Strong understanding of go-to-market strategies, sales methodologies, and marketing best practices.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  • Ability to build strong relationships with portfolio company leaders and stakeholders.
  • Proven track record of driving growth and achieving results.
