The Opportunity

TheGuarantors is hiring a BizOps & Strategic Finance Associate to help support the BizOps & Strategic Finance team on top priority financial and operational initiatives. This team plays a central role in planning as well as execution across financial planning, operational efficiency and organic growth initiatives, as well as a key role in investor relations. The ideal candidate is a self-starter who can thrive in a dynamic, fast paced environment, while interacting with, leveraging, and influencing key stakeholders across the organization.

Location
This is a Hybrid role based in NYC.

What You’ll Do

  • Support all of the Company’s strategic finance activities, including forecasting, budgeting, fundraising and investor relations
  • Manage budgeting and forecasting, and track variance to actual performance. Use insights to iterate on forecasts and create/discuss action plans with cross-functional partners
  • Generate, maintain and automate financial and operational reporting, including the development of recurring packages for the CEO, Board of Directors and investors
  • Create data-driven analyses to assess the ROI of products and operations, collaborating with management on key strategic decisions and on resource allocation
  • Serve as a key thought partner across functional teams by identifying, monitoring and optimizing KPIs as well as leading ad hoc analyses to understand growth, profitability and unit economics
  • Partner with the Accounting team to analyze, summarize and deliver monthly/quarterly financial reporting to internal and external stakeholders
  • Ensure standard finance methodologies and accountability are upheld throughout the organization

What You Bring

  • 2+ years of experience in investment banking, consulting, private equity, or an equivalent program
  • At least 1 year of experience working in a fast-paced start-up environment
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Economics or equivalent experience
  • Experience building dynamic, detailed and scalable financial models, as well as working with large datasets in Microsoft Excel
  • Strong critical thinking, analytical and quantitative skillset, with superior attention to detail and an ability to put structure around ambiguity
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to distill complex information appropriately for both internal stakeholders and external audiences
  • Ability to work up, down, and across large organizations; connects at all levels, i.e., Analysts to C-Suite
  • Exceptional organization and time management skills and a roll up your sleeves mentality with excitement to research and learn what you don’t know

Nice To Have

  • Experience writing SQL queries and retrieving data from relational databases
  • Insurance and/or Real Estate industry knowledge

Base Salary

The base salary range is between $130,000 - $150,000 annually.

Base salary does not include other forms of compensation or benefits. Final offer amounts are determined by multiple factors, including prior experience, expertise, location and current market data and may vary from the range above.
