About the role:
Borrowell is looking for a Director, Product to help fulfill Borrowell’s mission to make financial prosperity possible for everyone. You'll work to understand how consumers make financial choices and develop personalized products to empower them to optimize key decisions related to their credit. Reporting to the Chief Product Officer, you'll work cross-functionally with our design, engineering and business leads to identify and solve user problems.
You'll lead and mentor our team of product managers. In this role you will play a crucial role in shaping the future vision of our product while ensuring efficient collaboration and execution within the product team. As Director, Product you will have the opportunity to create a huge impact by building products that will help Canadians feel confident about money.
Responsibilities:
- Manage a team of 3 product managers
- Effectively communicate product vision and strategy to all teams across the business
- Work closely with cross-functional teams, including engineering, marketing, and partnerships, to drive product development from concept to launch, ensuring alignment with member needs and market trends
- Take a data-driven approach to owning the product roadmap, prioritizing features and enhancements based on member feedback, market research, and business goals
- Experience: 7+ years of experience in product management, including significant B2C experience, with a proven track record of delivering successful new products from concept to launch.
- Leadership: 3+ years of experience managing and leading high-performing product teams.
- Domain Knowledge: Strong understanding of the end-to-end product development process, product development methodologies, and agile practices. Including experience in a scale-up environment.
- Strategic Skills: Demonstrated ability to see the totality of the business in its competitive context, and an ability to craft a clear product vision and strategy.
- Communication: Excellent written and oral communication, with the ability to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams and stakeholders at all levels.
- Data-driven: Experience leading product decisioning with data analysis tools such as Excel, PivotTables, Tableau, PowerBI or equivalent; we use Looker

We are remote-first across Canada with an office in Toronto. This role will require you to attend in-person meetings bi-weekly and team-building events.
